Shopping
A visit to Marbella would not be complete without shopping!
Marbella is a destination discovered by the rich and famous in the 1950´s and defined by the lavish lifestyle they initiated here. It is no surprise that, as the city grew, so did upscale shopping. A shopper’s paradise, Marbella showcases the best in department stores, designer boutiques, home décor stores and art galleries as well as small independent shops for gourmet products, souvenirs and more.
Puerto Banús has the most designer boutiques per square meter in Spain. A stroll through this famous marina neighborhood is entrée to streets lined with shops offering prestigious world class luxury brands. A few steps away everything is under one roof at the largest El Corte Ingles department store in Spain. Also close by are the Cristamar and Marina Banús shopping centers.
The Casco Antiguo de Marbella open shopping center has more than 400 shops, bars, restaurants and hotels within the historic old town area. Strolling along the narrow streets and squares is the best way to explore both the commercial and cultural offerings.
Nearby is the Avenida Ricardo Soriano, one of the main shopping streets in Marbella with an array of stores, bars and restaurants.
For convinience, La Cañada shopping center offers the wide variety of a large mall with American and UK as well as Spanish chain brands, a huge supermarket and many smaller specialty shops.
Please note that many smaller stores are closed on Sunday and every day from 2pm to 5 pm for siesta after which they stay open until 10pm.
